WHAT ORDER SHOULD I LEARN THE SONGS IN THE BEGINNERS COURSE?
The Beginners course lessons introduce different song sheets to you at the appropriate time. The songs are chosen in a particular order, to aid speed of learning.
It is recommended that you learn a dozen or so songs from the Beginners Course before learning songs from the Song Sheet library, as following the lessons and demonstration videos is essential to establishing the core skills you need before learning other songs.
Once you have learnt several songs, the course then enables you to choose from 30 other songs. After that, you are introduced to:
Section 13 links to the 100 Song Library
Section 14 links to the Course to Convert Songs To DecPlay
Links to these extra courses are placed towards the end of the Beginners Course as it is not recommended to try these until you have learnt a significant number of the 30+ songs that are contained within the earlier sections of the Beginners Course.
I AM AN INTERMEDIATE LEVEL PLAYER - CAN I SKIP THE BEGINNERS SECTION?
Even if you are already at an intermediate level before joining DecPlay, you will usually still benefit from taking the Beginners Course because it gives you the foundation skills of the DecPlay method. These DecPlay skills have the benefit of:-
making the left hand easy
learning new songs very quickly
memorising songs easily
learning skills that help with playing by ear
making it easier to progress to advanced levels

Our separate Advanced Course builds on the skills learnt in the Beginners Course and takes things to the next level.
